My solo travel journey

“A life well lived is a life well traveled.”

How it all started

A life well lived is a life well traveled – at least that’s my motto. The fire was sparked when my dad embarked on our 10th family cruise when I was just a sprightly 18-year-old. That was the catalyst – I wanted more adventurous escapades. The desire to do more than just hop off the ship and stare at pretty buildings in Mexico for a few measly hours. I craved something more. I wanted to really immerse myself in a place, to feel its heartbeat, to become one with its culture, and maybe even embarrass myself a little in the process.

It wasn’t until I was thrown into work-sanctioned trek to Switzerland did my solo journey begin. I embarked on a whirlwind backpack tour of Europe (using the work excuse) to do so. It was there, amidst crumbling castles and stolen baguettes, that I discovered the true joy of solo travel. There’s something liberating about exploring a foreign land on your own, armed with nothing but a questionable sense of direction and a pocketful of postcard worthy dreams.

Have the courage to go it alone

However, it not just about my own solo adventures. Along the way, I found immense pleasure in encouraging others to embrace the art of wandering alone. I help spread courage and wanderlust one awkward encounter at a time. Now, let me tell you, my friend, my journeys have been anything but dull. I’ve encountered more crazy situations and outrageous experiences than I can count. From walking a mile in stiletto heels on cobblestone streets in Madrid for a slice of cake to bargaining with a dolphin for a decent photo in Dubai, my life has been a crazy, whirlwind of laughter, excitement, and a few questionable choices. But hey, at least it’s been a life well-lived and well-traveled.

What escapades await me next? Who knows. Either way I’ll continue venturing forth with a mischievous glint in my eye and a bag bursting with unforgettable travel memories. I’ll regale you with travel inspiration, tips, tricks, and stories to aid you in creating your own globe trotting adventures!
